The Kohler Home Energy Installer Program is designed for contractors who want to sell, install, start up, and supports Kohler residential and light commercial generators, automatic transfer switches, and associated accessories.

Application FormThe Kohler Home Energy Installer Program is a certification program for contractors who want to work with Kohler residential and light commercial backup power systems. Authorized installers are permitted to sell, install, perform start-ups, and register qualifying Kohler generators and transfer switches. The program also provides access to technical documentation, training resources, warranty registration tools, and sales support materials. It is designed to help contractors develop expertise in Kohler power generation products and installation requirements.
Authorized installers can work with Kohler residential and light commercial generators ranging from 6 kW to 60 kW, as well as automatic transfer switches and related accessories. Certification allows contractors to perform installations and start-up procedures in accordance with Kohler requirements. Installers also gain access to product information and technical resources to support customers throughout the equipment lifecycle. This helps ensure installations are completed correctly and backed by manufacturer-approved processes.
The process begins by completing the Kohler Home Energy installer application. Once approved, contractors receive access to the Kohler Power Systems Learning Academy and are enrolled in the Installer Fundamentals training course. After successfully completing the required training and certification requirements, installers can request warranty access credentials and begin supporting Kohler generator projects. Optional instructor-led training courses are also available for those seeking additional product knowledge and qualifications.
