We are here to support contractors, distributors, and installation partners with product information, program guidance, sales support, and help get started with the Kohler Home Energy Installer Program.
Become a Certified Kohler Home Energy Installer
The Kohler Home Energy Installer Program is designed for contractors who want to sell, install, start up, and supports Kohler residential and light commercial generators, automatic transfer switches, and associated accessories.
This program gives qualified installers access to Kohler training, technical resources, sales tools, marketing support, and warranty registration systems.
Program Benefits:
Authorized installers can gain access to:
- Authorization to sell, install, and perform start-ups on Kohler residential and light commercial generators from 6kW to 60kW, automatic transfer switches, and associated accessories
- Kohler partner portals for technical and sales information, marketing resources, and warranty registration
- Online product installation, start-up, and warranty registration training through the Kohler Power Systems Learning Academy
Installer Responsibilities:
To participate in the program, installers are expected to:
- Complete, pass, and maintain current installation training certification
- Provide customers with a certified field service partner
- Notify Kohler of any updates to contact information
- Meet required tool and program requirements
How to Get Started
Step 1: Complete the Application Form
Begin by completing the Kohler Generators online installer application form. Installers can use the link below to access the application
Step 2: Complete Installation Training
Once the application is received, Kohler grants access and automatically enrolls the installer in the free online Installer Fundamentals course through the Learning Academy.
The online curriculum includes topics such as:
- Site prep and setbacks
- Fuel line requirements
- Pre-start checklists
- RXT and RDT mounting and installation
- Unlock code requirements
- Initial start-up procedures
- Engine fundamentals
- Installer fundamentals online exam
Kohler also offers an optional two-day instructor-led qualification course for extended certification.
Step 3: Start Performing Installations
After training is complete, installers can request warranty access credentials and begin selling, installing, starting up, and registering Kohler residential and light commercial products.
