While infrared heaters (both electric and gas) work by heating objects and people rather than the air, they can be controlled by using traditional thermostats that regulate air temperature in spaces after the objects and mass have been heated.
Because infrared products have a long service life and are traditionally mounted out of reach, most won’t come with integrated control systems. When designing a system for a home, restaurant, bar, or other application, we focus on providing the best control option for the system that suits the space being heated, whether that’s indoor, outdoor, domestic, or commercial fitting.
From simple on/off switches to duplex stack switches to INF input regulators to programmable thermostats, we offer an assortment of various controls that are available in different configurations, including in-wall or surface mount options, with or without weatherproof covers. Along with that, we also provide additional accessories such as feet and tripods which can transform certain products into free standing heaters.
We offer a wide range of controls that offer the flexibility and functionality to best meet the needs of any residential or commercial property application. The convenience to adjust heating intensity, optional timer functions, and maximize energy efficiency as well as creating multiple heating zones with one or more heaters on each zone. For larger jobs, we will custom build relay panels in our UL 508 panel shop to meet your application requirements, and every panel is tested to align with our quality standards before leaving our factory.

Although infrared heaters warm objects and people directly rather than heating the air, they can still be controlled using conventional thermostats and dedicated infrared heating controls. Once surfaces and thermal mass within a space are heated, thermostats can regulate operating cycles to maintain desired comfort levels. Control systems can range from simple switches to advanced programmable solutions depending on the application's requirements.
Electric infrared heater control options include standard on/off switches, duplex stack switches, INF input regulators, programmable thermostats, timers, and multi-zone control systems. These solutions allow users to adjust heat output, create independent heating zones, improve energy efficiency, and customize operation based on occupant comfort and environmental conditions. Control systems are available for both indoor and outdoor installations using appropriate weatherproof enclosures.
An INF input regulator is designed for single-element infrared heaters and provides adjustable heat output without functioning as a traditional dimmer. Rather than reducing power directly to the heating element, the regulator cycles the heater on and off at controlled intervals when operating below full power. This approach provides flexible heat control while helping maintain performance and extending system usability in applications where variable output is desired.
Duplex stack switches are commonly used with dual-element infrared heaters. They allow each heating element to be controlled independently, creating effective half-power or full-power operating modes. This provides a simple and cost-effective method for adjusting heat output while giving users greater control over energy consumption and comfort levels without requiring more advanced control systems.
Yes. Multi-zone control systems allow separate groups of heaters to operate independently based on occupancy patterns, space usage, or heating requirements. Zoning improves energy efficiency by delivering heat only where it is needed and enables customized comfort settings throughout a property.
